Citizen journalists invited to submit stories for publication
Over the past several months, we have looked at various means of improving news reporting from the local community to you. Readers have submitted ideas and recommendations on what they would like to see, and now we are ready to embark on a new adventure for community news.
This program has already proved successful in several publications across the country. It allows you to share your interests with the readers of Fulton Kentucky News. We already have an outstanding group of writers who send us their columns including Fulton First Baptist Church’s Devotion of the Week, Everyday Psychology and Wellness Today by Dr. Linda Bradford, Thought for the Week by Bob Stoess, and From a Religious Point of View by Pastor Al Earley.
We are looking for more people who are interested in sharing their interest with us. If you love gardening, then send us your tips for a better garden. Doctors and dentists are welcome to share tips for better health and dental care. Attorneys can discuss specific legal topics with the readers. All contributors will be given full credit for the story. We want to engage our residents to share their knowledge and passion about topics from parenting to food.
We also would love to have a community news reporter from all of our surrounding towns. Let us know if your church is having an ice cream social, or your high school class is sponsoring a car wash to raise money.
Although we would love to be at each event in the area, we are unfortunately unable, which is why we are offering you the opportunity to be a volunteer citizen journalist for Fulton Kentucky News. It’s simple, just email us your name and address, and particular area of interest and we will start compiling a file of contributors that wish to assist in this endeavor. Send all emails to news@fultonkynews.com.
