Obituary – Mike Yates

Mike Yates, age 62, formerly of Fulton, KY did Wednesday,
January 22, 2014 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.
He was of the Baptist faith, was a veteran of the United States Army
Reserves and lived in Lexington, KY where he was an Accountant and
worked as a Disc Jockey for Cumulus Broadcasting.
He is survived by his wife Theresa (Tucker) Yates whom he married
August 3, 1973.
He is preceded in death by his parents Cayce and Merilyn Lynch Yates
and his grandparents Raymond and Luzelle Lynch.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Greenlea
Cemetery in  Fulton, KY. There will be no visitation held at the funeral
home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Carr Elementary School students and family members attended a very special Family Reading Night Tuesday, January 21. The event - held in the Carr Library –  featured books, art, and snacks inspired by the award-winning children’s author, Ezra Jack Keats. Students who attended created “Snowy Day” scenes using Keats’ cut paper illustration style. They also made snowflake snacks and each received a copy of Keats; book “Whistle for Willie.” The event was completely funded by a grant from the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation.


Obituary – Charles William Hardison

Charles William Hardison, age 74, of Fulton, KY
died January 24, 2014 at the Golden Living Center
in Union City, TN.
He was a retired employee of the former Goodyear
Tire & Rubber Company in Union City, TN where he
worked in the shipping/receiving department. He had
also served in the National Guard and was an avid
fisherman and hunter.  He had lived in this area most of his life.
He is survived by his wife Judith (Nall) Hardison of Fulton,KY, whom he
married March 19, 1977; three children Jason Malone Hardison of
Paducah, KY, Pamela Atkins of Vidor, TX and Teresa Squiers of
Liberty, TX,  8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren;  two sisters
Reta Carol Carlton of Dickson, TN and Joyce Hughes of Brookhaven, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby (Nabors) and Gaylon
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, January 26 at the
Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will be in the Pleasant
View Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from
1 pm Sunday until the funeral hour.
