Ready for Relay For Life 2014
I don’t know about you, but even though it’s February and we’re coming up on Valentine’s Day, I’m not loving that groundhog’s forecast! All in all, I’m through with winter and counting down to spring!
Speaking of counting down, we are almost 4 months away from our Relay For Life event. It will be on Friday, June 6, at Pontotoc Park. Something a little different this year is that we will “Relay” from 6 p.m. until midnight. We will still plan on having our survivor dinner before the event, their recognition to kickoff Relay For Life, luminaria ceremony, activities, music, food and fun.
Of course, we still need committee help to put all of this together. Fulton County is needing an accounting chair, online chair, logistics chair, luminaria chair, survivorship chair, and activities chair. If you would be interested in helping, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or (270) 444-0743.
Our theme this year is On Track For A Cure. This can be about trains (which is a natural with Fulton’s history) or race cars or horses or running. Use your imagination and have fun with it!
Right now, the Relay For Life of Fulton County has four teams registered online. Last year, we had 15 teams, so please go to www.relayforlife.org/fultonky and register today! If you know of any other businesses or churches who may be interested in having a team, please let me know and we can contact them and get them on board!
Our next meeting will be Monday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. at Seven Coffee on Lake Street (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Seven-Coffee-Christian-Gifts/255126711311111?ref=stream). Thanks to them for allowing us to meet there and I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE TOO! If you have any questions or needs, don’t hesitate to contact me!
Have a good day and stay warm!
