Primary students at Carr Elementary School had a famous visitor recently. Benjamin Franklin (Cecil May) stopped by the school and talked with kindergarten, first grade and second grade students.

The group met with the famous Founding Father in the Carr Library. During the visit, Franklin told the students a bit about his life, talked about some of his inventions, and discussed some of the sayings he is credited with coining. They also talked about the incident with Franklin flying the kite during the thunderstorm. Franklin left the students some coloring sheets and oversized copies of American paper currency that contain his likeness on the front. The students enjoyed receiving the “Benjamins” aka hundred dollar bills.
