Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest & Search Warrant
(Hickman, KY / Fulton Co. KY) On Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at approximately 11 AM, officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Moscow Avenue in the Hickman city limits on a 2000 Lincoln Expedition. The vehicle was occupied by two individuals; the driver was John Edgin of Hickman, KY and passenger was David Anthony Dixon of Wickliffe, KY. Dixon was known to be in the Hickman area and had outstanding warrants from other counties for drug charges. A FCSO K-9 unit was brought to the scene at which time the dog did indicate on the vehicle. Found in the vehicle was crystal meth, scales, baggies, and meth pipes. Dixon was arrested at the scene and transported to the Fulton County Detention Center. Edgin was released from the scene at the time.
The investigation continued and Edgin was later arrested on charges that originated from the earlier traffic stop. A search warrant for the residence of John Edgin located at 1707 Moscow Avenue, Hickman, KY was obtained and executed. Found was numerous components and items used to manufacture methamphetamine, a shake & bake lab, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are being filed on Edgin for the items that were found.
Dixon and Edgin were charged with the following.
David Anthony Dixon (White Male) of Wickliffe, KY – DOB 02/28/77 was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense, (methamphetamine) and trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (less than 2 grams). Dixon’s out of county charges were fleeing or evading police, 2nd degree (on foot), and probation violation (for felony offense).
John D Edgin (White Male) of Hickman, KY – DOB 07/28/78, was arrested on the charges of possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense, (methamphetamine) and trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (less than 2 grams). New charges are manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawfully possession of methamphetamine precursors, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and persistent felony offender.
Both subjects are currently lodged in the Fulton County Detention Center on a $5000.00 cash bond. Edgin’s charges from the search warrant will increase his bond.
