Martin Police respond to attempted robbery
On 03/19/2014 at approx. 2019 hrs Ptl. Grady responded to The Next Door located at 120 Hurt Street in reference to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred at this location. Upon arrival he made contact with the complainant/victim, Kirby Woodruff, and he advised him that at approx. 2014 hrs a black male wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, and an orange bandana covering from the nose down on his face came into The Next Door. The victim stated that the offender pointed a black handgun at him and told him to put the money from the cash register into a dark colored back pack that the offender brought in with him. The victim stated that he believed the handgun was possibly a pellet gun and told the offender that his gun was fake and to leave the store. The victim stated that the offender then appeared to be flustered and ran out the door. The victim stated that he immediately ran towards the door to see if the offender was getting into a car but he was already gone. He was last seen running east on foot
towards Bradley Book Store. The offender did not take any property from The Next Door.
